Workshop description

Safety is one of the defining forces for the development and commissioning of autonomous systems. This workshop seeks to initiate a dialogue on the current methods being employed to achieve functional safety and SOTIF for autonomous systems. Diving deeper, we discuss the use of virtual engineering and how virtual hardware platforms and vehicle models enable verification and validation of the intended functionality. This workshop aims to develop a set of common practices and recommendations through discussion on these topics.

Agenda

  • Impulse talk 1: Arguing for ADAS/AD safety with Scenario-Based Virtual Testing (Tjorben Gross & Mohammad Abu-Alqumsan, MathWorks)
  • Impulse talk 2: Using Virtual HW Platforms for Validation & Verification of ADAS/AD System Implementation (Stefan Thiel, Synopsys)
  • Impulse talk 3: AD/ADAS testing and validation in the age of massive data (Mario Torres, IVEX)
